The North American Young Riders Endurance Ride (NAYRER) will be held on July 29, 2010, in Shaker Village, Kentucky. In 2008 and 2009, NAYRER was held as a demonstration event of the North American Junior and Young Riders Championship—the premier equestrian competition in North America for junior and young riders. Young equestrians come from the United States, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean Islands to vie for championships in the three Olympic equestrian disciplines of show jumping, dressage, eventing and the FEI discipline of reining. This July, the NAYRER will be held as an offsite demonstration event of the NAJYRC. Team competition. This year will feature the second year of a team competition. Teams will consist of four members and be self-organized and are encouraged to utilize geographic proximity but not required. (So try to form teams within your area.) Awards. USEF medals will be given to the top three teams, top three individuals and BC. Who? Riders born between January 1, 1989, and December 31, 1994). In addition, riders 14 and 15 years old with a letter from AERC stating they are allowed to ride unsponsored in the senior division of AERC.
What? 75 miles, FEI CEI**. When? NAJYRC: Wednesday, July 28 to Sunday, August 1, 2010. Endurance clinic and opening ceremonies: July 28. Endurance ride: July 29. Closing ceremonies: August 1. Where? Shaker Village, close to Lexington, Kentucky. Why? This event is unique to youth endurance riders. As a demonstration event of the NAJYRC, youth have an opportunity to interact with youth of other disciplines. An endurance clinic will be held Wednesday and is free to all NAYRER Participants. 2011 Four-Star Championship. Our objective is to see endurance as a full-fledged four-star event in 2011. But we need your help. We can’t do this without riders who are qualified to ride in a four-star and we want you there. U.S. rider requirements: Rider qualified for a 2* FEI event; USEF and AERC-I member; registered with FEI U.S. horse requirements: Horse qualified for a 2* FEI event; 6 years old at the time of the competition (January 1 birthdate); registered with FEI; current FEI passport If you have any questions/thoughts please share them with a member of the Junior Commttee.
