The 75 and 100 mile riders see this section of the OD usually at a fast canter or gallop. This wide gravel fire road between the Little Fort vet check at mile 68 and Pickett Springs vet check at 80 miles is one of the few flat sections where a rider can make up the time spent traveling slowly over the rocky trails on the Massanutten.
