WHAT INTERNATIONAL DOES FOR YOU
Stagg Newman-Endurance News-June 1993

  • The participation in International provides a world-wide cross fertilization of ideas, giving insights into potential ways to improve the local sport
  • International lends significant visibility to the sport, making it more press-worthy, and expanding our ability to attract both sponsors and new participants to the sport.  Show potential sponsors the videotapes from Spain to motivate them to help you locally.  And new participants mean more local rides can be supported.
  • The visibility of the sport means that participants locally have more clout when pressing to keep trails open, and to open up new trails and park lands to the sport.  We know of one new ride in Pennsylvania that finally received permission after years of trying to use state park land because of the favorable International endurance publicity.
  • On a less tangible, but nonetheless important plane, International simply generates lots of goodwill and camaraderie amongst riders and crews from multiple nations.  That can foster better understanding worldwide among people who do share common interests.  One can hope that International can perform in theses arenas far better than the United Nations.  Certainly, in all of our individual ways, we can all contribute on this front and benefit.
  • Since AERC International is helping all of us, shouldn't we all join at just $10 per year?
